I am just loving making paper flowers – Testing out my new dies from Sissix Susans Garden and Spellbinders.

I was lucky enough to get some bargains on some used dies that I have been eyeing up for a while. I also got myself a foam mat and a decent set of flower shaping tools – great stuff – now I am flying. All were created from white card and coloured using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I love the way the ink sinks through and colours both sides of the card at once.

dogwood

I used Sissix Susan’s Garden Dogwood Die to cut the shapes. Really pleased with the leaves – they look so real. Colours used DG2 and 3 for leaves, CG2 and JG1 for petal centres, DR7 for petal edge detail.

Sissix Susan’s Garden Flowering Quince Die to cut the shapes with a bit of Flower Soft on the stamens. Colours used: LG4 and 5 for leaves, BP2 and 7 for petals, LY1 and OR1 for stamens, plus the blender to add highlights.

Sissix Susan’s Garden Mini Lily Die to cut the shapes. Colours used: CG4 for leaves, GB5 and CR7 for petals and stamens, plus the blender to add highlights.

Sissix Susan’s Garden Forsythia Die to cut the shapes. A bit OTT on the Flower Soft here but fairly pleased with the results. Colours used: DG2 and 3 for leaves, CT1 and 3 for petals, GB5 for centres, plus the blender to add highlights.

Sunflower

Created from Spellbinders ‘Create a Sunflower’ die. Like the way these emboss and cut. Centre could do with a little more texture and perhaps a bit more shading on the petals. Colours used: JG2 for leaves, CT2 and GB4 for petals, EB3 and 8 for centre, plus the blender to add highlights.

flowers3

Created from Spellbinders ‘Create an Aster’ die. Colours used: DG3 for leaves, LV1, 2 and 3 for petals, EB3 and 8 for centre, plus the blender to add highlights.

flowers2

Created from Spellbinders ‘Create a Daisy’ die. Oooooh – my favourite! Colours used: DG3 for leaves, GB4 and 7 for petals, plus the blender for added highlights.

iris1

Created from Spellbinders ‘Create an Iris’ die. Really pleased with the colouring. Colours used: DG3 for leaves, CT2 and 3 for larger petal centres, LV2 and 3 for outer petal edges, LV1 and 2 for inner small petals, and the blender to add highlights.

I think that creating flowers could be another addiction!
