Quick and Easy Fruit Tree Card created for Chocolate Baroque

AW Fruit Tree CAS

Another quick and easy card for you today.

This 6 X 6 inch card was created with the Fantasy Woodland along with the verse from the Tall Trees stamp sets. Images were stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink. Colouring was really quick and easy using watercolour brush pens. A small ‘dab’ of colour was quickly laid down onto the darker areas of the image, indicated by the stamp detail. A damp brush was then used to draw out the colour giving shading and tonal variation, really quick and easy. The edge of the stamping card was inked with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and the roughed up using the edge of my scissors. PVA pearls and faux stitching was added. I then added Glossy Accents over the apples for added shine. Just about achievable in 15 mins x.

Quick and Easy Birthday Card created for Chocolate Baroque

AW Birthdays good for you CAS

Good morning. Today I am sharing a quick and easy card that can be made in under 15 minutes.

I used a offcut from a ready made scalloped edge card (approx. 10 X 10.5cm) for this one. The tree and Sentiment were stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink from the Fantasy Woodland and Birthday Words stamp sets. The card was edged with a brown alcohol marker and Tattered Rose Distress Ink to frame. Finished with a little copper glitter glue on the leaves for a bit of sparkle.

Spooky Dream Journey created for Chocolate Baroque

This was one of my samples for the recent shows on Hochanda featuring the lovely Fantasy Woodland stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I couldn’t help seeing the pattern for half an eye in one of the tree tops, and so couldn’t resist making something a little dark and spooky. I had a bit of fun with this one.

AW Dream Journey 1

AW Dream Journey 2

Materials:

  • Fantasy Woodland and Birthday Words stamp sets
  • Seasonal Elements and Seasonal Journey stencils, plus a texture stencil for ‘scales’
  • 14cm card blank, black card, white stamping card
  • Ink sprays with mica (teal, copper)
  • Texture pastes: Viva Décor Kristall Gel (Hologram glitter and clear gel) and opaque acrylic texture paste (Pebeo Concrete)
  • Gilding wax (copper gold)
  • Acrylic paint (metallic gold and light metallic teal)
  • Alcohol marker (black)
  • Water based inks (red, yellow, teal green)
  • Inkpads: Versafine (Onyx Black), Distress Ink (Scattered Straw), Versamark
  • WOW heat embossing powder (Clear Gloss)

How it was made:

  1. I spritzed the black card with mica sprays.
  2. Background texture was created by applying clear and glitter gel, plus acrylic paint, through the stencil. When dry I applied gilding wax over the scaly texture.
  3. Lettering was created by applying opaque paste through the stencil. I made a bit of a mess as I got some paste seeping under the stencil. When dry I tidied and sharpened up the letter edging by using a black alcohol marker (mess saved).
  4. The edges were stamped and rubbed over with gold acrylic paint.
  5. The text was stamped with Versafine and trimmed away from the full stamp sentiment. Edged with Distress Ink and applied with 3D glue gel.
  6. The eye was created by stamping the tree top twice (turning the stamp 180 degrees) with Versafine. Note the centre needs to be overlapped slightly to create a circle shape. I then cut out using a circle die and used a black marker to colour around the edge and to draw the pointed pupil shape.
  7. The eye was coloured with water based inks and then heat embossed with clear gloss powder. I added several repeat layers of embossing until I got a smooth shiny glass eye effect. Glue to the card with 3D gel.

Fantasy Woodland Birthday Card created for Chocolate Baroque

AW Fantasy Woodland Birthday

Good afternoon. This was another of my recent show samples created for Chocolate Baroque using the Fantasy Woodland stamp set.

Materials:

  • Fantasy Woodland and Birthday Words stamp sets
  • A5 ready made card blank with scalloped edge, patterned paper with script
  • Inkpads: Versamark and variegated pigment ink (purple & blues)
  • WOW embossing Powders (Clear Gloss, detail white)
  • Water based opaque Gouache paint (white)
  • Pen (opaque white), glitter pens (pink, green)
  • Glitter glue (clear)
  • Faux gem flowers (pink, green)
  • Corner rounder punch

How it was done:

  1. The paper was trimmed and the corners rounded off with a punch.
  2. The trees were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white powder, the sentiment with pigment ink and clear powder.
  3. The scene was extended at the based, and faux stitching added, using the white pen.
  4. A little thinned white gouache was added behind the sentiment to emphasise it slightly. I wanted it to be subtle but visible.
  5. The flowers were coloured with glitter pens and faux gems stuck onto the centre tree.
  6. Finally I added a little clear glitter glue for more sparkle.
