Spectrum Noir Aquatints (red/pink, teal and purple) and Sparkle Pen (clear overlay)
Ribbon (deep purple)
*I used StazOn to stamp the sentiment on my coated card as I wasn’t sure if Versafine would dry on the slightly shiny surface. If you are using an ‘inkable’ type of card/paper the Versafine will be fine for this.
How to make it:
Stamp the heart and flowers onto stamping card and heat emboss with clear powder. Cut out elements and colour with inks and sparkle pen.
Stick the ribbon to card front with double sided tape. Stamp the sentiment. Glue down the stamped embellishments with 3D glue or foam pads for added dimension.
Good morning. Today I am sharing another of my show samples with the lovely Mackintosh stamps recently shown on Hochanda.
I used a stamping platform to help with placement of the stamps around the card border. This made it quick and easy but it is not essential. A craft mat and acrylic block with a grid will be helpful to get precise placement but it can be done ‘by eye’. Practice on a piece of cheap copy paper.
Water based inks (yellow, purple, teal, deep pinkish red)
Sparkle pen (clear overlay)
Layering dies (Torn Edge Squares – Tattered Lace)
How to make it:
Mount the corner and border stamps onto a gridded acrylic block. Test their placement on a scrap piece of 8 X 8 copy paper. Stamp onto one corner and edge, turn the card 90 degrees and stamp again. Repeat to build the border. Heat emboss with clear powder. Colour with inks and sparkle pen. The embossing resists the ink so makes colouring fairly quick and easy.
Stamp the lady onto stamping card. Heat emboss with clear powder. Cut out and colour with inks and sparkle pen. Don’t worry about cutting out the fiddly ‘land locked’ area under the bouquet. When mounted onto the uncoloured background panel it will blend in and not be noticeable.
Stamp the panel and sentiment, cut out and mount onto black card, glue to the card front.
Glue the lady to the card front with 3D glue gel or foam pads.
Cut and make the large tag shaped card from black card – approx. 20 X 10.5cm.
Cut a tag from stamping card to layer onto the card leaving a small border of the black card base showing. Spritz with coloured inks and edge with silver pen.
Overstamp the background with floral and the decorative heart stamps.
Stamp the panels onto acetate with StazOn ink and cut out. Colour some areas on the back with acrylic paints – leaving some sections clear.
Add a layer of double sided sticky sheet to the back of the acetate (just the main shape – omit the little fiddly bits). I drew around the acetate onto the carrier sheet, then cut it out before sticking to the acetate. Pour glitter onto the tacky surface and press down/rub in well. Brush off excess.
Stick to background mat with double sided tape – hiding it under opaque painted sections.
Stamp the flower onto glitter card and cut out. Add ribbon and stick down the flower.
Glue the topper to the card with foam pads for added dimension. Finish with PVA pearls.
Good afternoon. Today I am sharing one of my samples for the recent shows on Hochanda with the Mackintosh stamp sets from Chocolate Baroque. Quite ‘clean and simple’ for me – but there is a bit of decoupage in there x.
Spectrum Aqua watercolour pens (gold, olive green and pale pink)
Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen (clear overlay)
PVA pearls (silver)
How to make it:
Stamp the border approx. 8.5cm up from the card edge and emboss with silver powder. Cut along the top edge to create the card back with decorative header. The piece will measure approx. 20.5cm across and 12.5cm high.
Trim the remaining card to make the card front – approx. 20.5cm wide and 8.5cm high. Allow extra card at the top edge to score a fold for gluing to the card back to make up the card.
Stamp and emboss the heart and flowers for decoupage onto stamping card and cut out. After working out the placement of the heart onto the card front, stamp and emboss the floral sprig onto the card front. Colour all the images with Aqua Markers and Sparkle Pen.
Glue down the elements to the card front using 3D glue gel or foam pads for added dimension. Finish with a few PVA pearls.
