Walk in the Park scene card

Good evening. I created this scene using several scene building stamp sets from Chocolate Baroque.

Materials:

• Sunburst Scenes, Country Views, English Cottages, Townhouses stamp sets
• 17 X 19cm Card Blank, white card, scrap copy paper
• Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
• Water based inks and pens (orange, yellow, gold, blue, green)
• Alcohol marker (dark brown) and fine tipped pens (opaque white and brown)
• Sparkle pen (clear)
• Zig 2 way glue

How it was done:

Brown, green and gold inks were picked up from left over inks on my craft mat (spritzed with water). I try to do this with any leftovers so that I collect some inked background papers to use in future projects. I thought that this one would make a nice base for a landscape.

I stamped the sign post, trees and bushes onto scrap copy paper and cut them out to create masks for stamping. I applied a couple of dots of zig glue to the backs and left to dry (it dries clear to give a removable tac). I then keep the masks in my stash as they can be reused many times. Chocolate Baroque also do masking tissue which already has a cling back for this purpose.

I stamped the scene with Versafine working from the foreground, masking images before working images further back.

At this stage it looks a bit of a mess. The fine tipped pen was then used to draw in elements to ‘make sense’ of the scene.

Colouring was added using watercolour pens, dragging out colour with a damp brush to give shading. A sinking sun was drawn on with a brush and water, and colour blotted away. A little clear sparkle pen was added for shimmer. The card was edged with alcohol maker to frame.

Finally highlights were added with a white pen.

Quick and Easy Love and Happiness Card

Good morning. Today I am sharing some quick and easy makes.

 

This one was created with Landscape Edges, Sunburst Scenes, Country Views and Birthday Words stamp sets from Chocolate Baroque. It may look complicated but the scene stamps do all the work.

1. The background was created really quickly by stamping with Versafine onto patterned paper.
2. The mount board tag was coloured with water based inks and scene images stamped with Versafine. Marker pen was used to draw in the hills and to edge the tag and background panel.
3. Brown and white pencils were used to quickly add highlights and shadows.
4. The tag was added to the card with foam mount for added depth. Finished with ribbon flower and PVA pearls.

Chocolate Baroque on Hochanda today with lots of scene building stamps

Village Scene Created for Chocolate Baroque

Here is another of my designs created for the recent TV shows on the Craft Channel for Chocolate Baroque using the lovely scene building stamp sets – Country Views and Sunburst Scenes.

I have had so much fun creating these.

Materials:

• Country Views and Sunburst Scenes stamp sets
• White card blank 8 inch square, white stamping card, white & black card for mounting
• Copy paper to create masks
• Leafy border stencil (Sheena Douglass)
• Acrylic paint (black)
• Versafine Inkpad (Onyx Black)
• Distress Inkpads: Black Soot & Pumice Stone (grey & black), Peeled Paint & Old Paper (greens), Stormy Sky & Broken China (blues) , Mustard Seed & Scattered Straw (yellows), Walnut Stain (brown) and Victorian Velvet (pink/red)
• Fine marker pen (black)
• Adhesive

How to make it:

1. Stamp the scene using Versafine onto a piece of stamping card approx. 6 inch square. Use masks to cover the foreground images while stamping the ones behind in the background. Complete the scene by drawing with the fine black pen.
2. Apply acrylic paint through the stencil to create leafy foliage around the border; grasses in the bottom foreground and overhanging leafy branches around the top and sides.
3. Colour the image by putting Distress Ink onto a tile or palette and picking up ink with a wet brush.
4. Glue the image onto white and black card to frame and layer onto the card front.

Church Scene Card Created for Chocolate Baroque

Here is another of my designs created for the recent TV shows on the Craft Channel for Chocolate Baroque using the lovely scene building stamp sets – Country Views and Sunburst Scenes.

I love scene building. I disappear into a little fantasy world while creating these. This one would be suitable as a Wedding or Christening Card.

Materials:

• Country Views and Sunburst Scenes stamp sets, Sentiment from A Little Bird Told Me set
• White card blank 15 X 12cm and smooth white stamping card
• Copy paper to create masks
• Inkpads: Ranger Archival (Coffee), Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
• Fine marker pen and alcohol ink marker (dark brown)
• Organza ribbon and PVA pearls (pink)
• Adhesive, strong (red liner) double sided tape and glue dots

How to Make it:

1. Cut a 9cm square with rounded corners from stamping card. Stamp the scene using Distress Ink. Use masks to cover the foreground images while stamping the ones behind in the background. Complete the scene by drawing using the fine brown pen.
2. Colour the image by putting Distress Ink onto a tile or palette and picking up ink with a wet brush.
3. Outline the edges of the topper with brown alcohol ink.
4. Stamp the images and sentiment on the card blank with Archival Ink. Glue on the topper.
5. Apply ribbon with double sided tape. NOTE: As the ribbon is fine dust it with a little talc after sticking down. This will stop any tape glue stickiness coming through the ribbon. Make a small bow and attach with a glue dot.
6. Finally add PVA pearls and edge the card blank with brown alcohol pen.

Monochrome Scene Card created for Chocolate Baroque

Here is another of my designs created for the recent TV shows on the Craft Channel for Chocolate Baroque using the lovely scene building stamp sets – Country Views and Sunburst Scenes.

Materials:

• Country Views and Sunburst Scenes stamp sets
• White card blank 15cm square, white stamping card, black card
• Copy paper to create masks
• Leafy border stencil (Sheena Douglass)
• Acrylic paint (black)
• Inkpads: Versafine (Onyx Black) and Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• Fine marker pen and alcohol marker (black)
• Paper clay rose, die cut swirl and black gem stickers
• Adhesive, sticky foam pads, 3D glue gel

How to make it:

1. Stamp the scene using Versafine onto a piece of stamping card approx. 14cm square. Use masks to cover the foreground images while stamping the ones behind in the background. Complete the scene by drawing with the fine black pen.
2. Apply acrylic paint through the stencil to create leafy foliage around the border; grasses in the bottom foreground and overhanging leafy branches around the top and sides. Edge the image by blending Distress ink in from the corners and sides.
3. Cut a shaped panel out of the image using a die or craft knife (I used a Tonic Die). Mat the background image onto black card and glue to the card front. Edge the card blank with alcohol marker.
4. Colour the image by putting Distress Ink onto a tile or palette and picking up ink with a wet brush. Use a circular mask for the moon. Glue the image onto black card and layer onto the card front with foam pads. Align the scene images so that they are continuous across to the background, and the hole in background image becomes covered.
5. Finally add gem stickers, die cut swirl and rose.

Quirky Scene Created for Chocolate Baroque Challenge 16

 

I enjoyed making this quirky landscape with the little house stamped on a slant. Thought that it would be a nice card to send and bring a smile to a friend going through a difficult time.

I created it using this months Colour Challenge colours.

The stamps (Country Views and Sunburst Scenes) were featured on the recent TV show with Lesley Wharton on The Craft Channel.

Materials:

• Country Views, Sunburst Scenes and Mackintosh Sentiments stamp sets
• DL card blank (approx. 20.5 X 10cm)
• Printed sentiment from computer
• White stamping card (suitable for alcohol ink colouring)
• Spectrum Noir Alcohol ink pens (pale blues and greens, pink/purple, golden yellow and black)
• Inkpads: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Distress Ink (Peeled Paint)
• Fine tipped marker – alcohol ink resistant (water based)
• White gel pen
• Clear crystal glitter glue, blue PVA pearls
• Adhesive and sticky foam pads

How it was made:

1. Stamp the scene with Memento ink. Some of the foreground elements, such as the trees, will need to be stamped first and masked before stamping the images behind.
2. Use black detail pen to draw and ‘join up’ the landscape. Colour with alcohol ink pens. Finish by adding highlights with the opaque white gel pen.
3. Trim to fit the card front and edge with distress ink and finally black pen to create a frame.
4. Stamp the sentiment ‘Just to say’ onto a die cut topper and glue on the printed sentiment. Edge with distress ink and black marker. Stick to the card with foam pads.
5. Finish with a little glitter sparkle on the sun and roof tops, and PVA pearls on the sentiment plaque.
